1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
Dash of salt
2 c. sliced peaches
2 c. sugar, divided
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
Melt the butter in a 2-quart baking dish.
Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Add milk and stir until mixed. Pour batter in dollops over butter in baking dish but do not stir.
Combine peaches and remaining sugar and spoon over batter, but don't stir.
Bake at 350° F for one hour.
For a healthier cobbler, you may use canned, sweetened peaches and only 1 cup of sugar.
